Ground gypsum is found throughout the industrial world, doing everything from a fire retardant flooring to cleaning our teeth.
PLASTERS – Gypsum is a primary component in the creation of high value moulding and production plasters used throughout the manufacturing process.
CEMENT – Gypsum goes directly into the manufacturing process of producing over 13 million tons of cement in the central and south central regions of the US.
FOOD PRODUCTION – Gypsum is used throughout the world as an ingredient in canned vegetables, flour, white bread, ice cream, blue cheese, and other foods. Used to improve the efficiency of brewing beer, gypsum is also used to control the tartness and clarity of wine.
SOIL AMENDMENT – Gypsum is often used as a soil additive to improve crops such as alfalfa, corn, cotton, wheat, and peanuts

Valu-Fil 650
Valu-Fil 650 product line consists of white, high-purity, finely ground calcium sulfate dihydrate which provides many unique benefits in its applications is a multitude of industries. Valu-Fil products are mined from the same gypsum deposit as Arcosa Specialty Material ‘s food grade calcium sulfate. Our Valu-Fil product line is without a doubt our most popular product due to it’s quality, versatility, and affordability.
Terra Alba
Arcosa Specialty Materials also manufactures an industrial grade Terra Alba, which is a white, high purity, finely ground calcium sulfate dihydrate. Industrial Grade Terra Alba is used in paper coatings, as a mineral filler in resin systems, or as a flame retardant filler, and various other applications that demand a soft, white, high purity mineral filler. Terra Alba is also a soluble source of calcium and sulfur.
